My colleague Owen Tooke emailed you back just three minutes after your email reached us, asking you to call him and giving his extension. You might want to check your email folders to see if his email went somewhere other than your inbox. Also, regarding your phone call, we can see from our phone call log that you called and that you did not leave a message for the person whose extension you called (and who was in a meeting).

I wanted to respond to your question about our online payment system.
The AAVSO's online payment system for dues and contributions is working fine.
The AAVSO online store, through which CHOICE course payments are made, is offline at present. The store uses a combination of programming language and environment that the online payment system does not, and there is a problem right now within that mix of language and environment.
The good news re the online store is that we have been working hard to create an alternative resource to enable online store payments - including for CHOICE courses. This resource is in the final testing stage, and should be available very soon. We'll post to this forum thread when it is available.
In the meantime, please call us at 617-354-0484 x100 to pay for a CHOICE course or make another purchase from the store. We check our voicemail every day so if you leave us a message we will hear it.
The new system for CHOICE course online payments is now available. Access it the same way as before - go to the CHOICE course page (https://www.aavso.org/carolyn-hurless-online-institute-continuing-education-choice) and in the paragraph headed Registration, click on the appropriate link for members or non-members. There are options to pay using PayPal or a credit card.
Depending on your browser, the screen will either show the PayPal option on one line and the credit card option on a second line, or it will show the PayPal option on one line and New to PayPal on the second line. To pay with a credit card, choose the credit card option or New to PayPal. The screen that comes up will say PayPal Guest Checkout - this is where you put your credit card information, etc.

Hi Elizabeth and thank you for the response , I never got Owen's email and I don't filter my emails in any way so it may have been lost somewhere on the net. I didn't leave a voicemail because I wanted to speak to someone live. No harm no foul I will call Owen and will pay for the course that way. It's all good !
