Background/Interesting Fact
I am the co-founder of Diatom Software, a scientific software engineering firm. We recently collaborated with the AAVSO to develop an iPhone app called Variable Stars, containing a searchable catalog of 183 thousand variables based on the International Variable Star Index (VSX). We also released an Astronomical Clock app called AstroClock that I hope fellow variable star observers will find useful. It's a real thrill to work with the AAVSO to make a technical contribution to variable star research.
I am also the author of a blog dedicated to Astronomical Data Mining (www.AstroDataMining.net) which has been sadly neglected while I've been focusing on iPhone Apps!
In addition, I work as a consultant for the pharmaceutical industry developing bioinformatics applications for biomedical knowledge integration and drug discovery. When I'm not writing software, I also enjoy observing, reading, and racquetball. I live in Holliston MA with my wife Cara and two kids Jack and Abby.
