Interested in astronomy for +/- 50 years. Involved with U.K. astronomical societies 1970-80 and 1990-2002 and in South Africa 1981-1990 and 2003 -2012. Manufactured mirrors and Dobsonian telescopes 1990-2002. First variable estimate was Nova Cygni 1975? on the day of maximum. ( Estimated at mag 1.9, never reported the obs! ).
