Hello,
I am trying to submit my observation of the transiting system TOI-3548 (https://exoplanetarchive.ipac.caltech.edu/overview/TIC%20271167979#bibliography). In the link I have provided the name of the exoplanet is TOI-3548.01 but when uploading the report, I get an error message saying the planet name is not found. Could this be due to the fact that it is not a confirmed exoplanet? Or is there another name for the planet that I have not yet found?
Thank you,
Huckleberry
Hi Huck...
The AAVSO-NASA upload portal only works for confirmed exoplanets and your target is listed by TESS as a 'candidate' and by the Follow Up Team as a 'False Positive'. BTW, I believe its best to use the TIC number if you do have future 'confirmed' exoplanet reports to upload.
cheers
Gary
Duly noted, thanks for the reply Gary!
I know AAVSO requires the target to be confirmed, so that is likely your issue. I'm not sure which specific dataset they check, but my experience has been that planets you can find in this table (and their associated names) fit the requirements - https://exoplanetarchive.ipac.caltech.edu/cgi-bin/TblView/nph-tblView?app=ExoTbls&config=PS (or alternately, https://exoplanetarchive.ipac.caltech.edu/cgi-bin/TblView/nph-tblView?app=ExoTbls&config=PSCompPars )
