I try to access the database with current maxima/minima for LPV-stars at https://www.aavso.org/maxmin-access-current but the data will not show. I got a message "Internal Server Error" when I click on a star. Maybe something is missing after the website was updated?

Are this database still maintained? The maxima from this page is a valuable source for my own database with maxima for mira stars (http://var.saaf.se/mirainfooc.php).

AAVSO LPV max/min database

Hi Thomas,

Thank you for asking about the AAVSO LPV maxima/minima database and access to the current (published and unpublished) data. It's good to hear that you find these data valuable in your work with LPVs! Yes, there is currently an issue with accessing the data behind that page; we are working on fixing it.

The published data through 2008 are available from here: https://www.aavso.org/maxmin-access

Regarding the current/recent data, the last time we updated the max/min tables for all of the Bulletin stars was in early 2018. That was the last year we published the Bulletin. The only stars that have been updated since then are the ones we include in the LPV table in the RASC Observer's Handbook; the last update of those stars was July/August 2020. At present it is unlikely that we will continue to update the max/min database in the way we have done in the past. We are considering how and if to do future updates.

Best regards,

Elizabeth
