HST/COS is scheduled to observe the SU UMa variable BB Ari 2013 September 27; it must be at quiescence for HST to observe it safely. There is a possibility (recent observations are somewhat conflicting) that a normal outburst might be commencing.
YOUR OBSERVATIONS ARE ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL TONIGHT AND TOMORROW to know the status of BB Ari. Please see AAVSO Special Notice #371 for details.

I've imaged this area on the last 3 nights (22,23 & 24Sep13 UT) in V and B filters and do not see BB Ari. I can see the comp stars 165 and 172 but nothing at BB Ari location. Looks good for the HST! I'll shot it again tonite just to make sure.

p.s. I enclose a 3x180sec image on the area with the AASVO chart overlayed. Nothing seems to be seen where the tick marks indicate the variable is.
Tried to image BB Ari last night (9/24).
Not able to detect it. Must be <17 mag.

Had clouds last night, (poor guiding) but can clearly see comp stars down to 17th V-magnitude, still no BB Ari brighter than 17.5 viewed; see attachment.

Same here for last night :( Gave up after Nova 2013 Del was covered in cloulds.

Had a near photometric night. Moon very close to the target. I reduced a set of 3x5 minute clear filter images, combined and submitted to WebObs for BB Ari at CV magnitude of 18.656 +/-0.065 on 2013-09-27 11:03:05.0 UT or JD 2456562.960475.

Amazing these CCD can positive 18th magnitude with the sky background so bright! I'd be lucky to visually see 13th magnitude with my 20" under these conditions.
