Y Sco will not have its name changed to V2613 Oph per Table 2 of The 78th Name-List of Variable Stars (http://www.konkoly.hu/cgi-bin/IBVS?5721). Erroneous constellation boundary data in use at the time of calculations gave rise to the notion that this star did not reside within Scorpius (N.N.Samus, private communication, 1-6 Apr 2007).
2
GCVS Team
Since 1972 varies its brightness in the range 12.3m-15.0m irregularly, maxima are unpredictable [JRAS Can 70, 93, 1976. ].
