I am a longtime astronomy educator, having worked in planetariums for 35 years. I presented programs at a small college observatory for 25 years. The largest instrument there was a C-14, equipped with a SBIG ST-7 XME and an Optec Maxfield focal reducer. I helped college students with basic astronomy projects, most involving photometry. (I helped them with image acquisition and calibration but left the data analysis up to them.)

My personal data collection setup consists of a Takahashi FS-78 refractor, Tak Space Boy mount, Atik 414ex mono CCD and Starizona filter slider with V, B, R and I filters. Take data when weather allows; unfortunately, between summer smoke and Michigan winter weather, that's not nearly as often as I would like.
