Hello all!

I am writing to this forum to report a possible issue that I have just detected. I hope this has not been already notified in another post, at least I was unable to find a reference in this section.

I am encountering the following error when I try to stack 3 images in VPHOT:

"Unable to load DLL 'PhotLib.dll': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E"

I know it is not a problem related to the images themselves (uploaded from iTelescope), since It happens  also to every set of images that I was previously (up to yesterday) able to stack.

Do others also find the same issue at the moment?

Thanks in advance for your time whatever the case and best regards!

Now it worked ¿?

Update: Hello again,

Now it has just worked for me. I haven't made any change, just repeated the same stack procedure that was failing after a while. I guess it is now solved.

Just for the record and in case it is of any help, the message said something related to WinIO and access permissions(probably I should have mentioned this before, sorry).

Javier:

It is a known issue.  As you observed, trying again later often removes the problem.

A reboot of the VPhot server also seems to help. We will do that.

Ken

BTW, how many images do you have in your full VPhot image list?

Thank you very much Ken!

Thank you for your kind help Ken! :-)

From now on I will take it into account.

I am a very recently returning VPHOT user. At the moment I have a total of 28 images(including stacks) accumulated. I am learning the processs and hope not being overloading the expected average storage per user on the server side. I was planning to download them soon after analyzing them and feeling sufficiently self-confident to report the obtained measurements (I am also aware of the 4 months limit).

VPHOT is an awsome tool and hope to gradually improve my knowledge on both it and the involved photometric techniques until being able to manage it properly.

Thanks again!

Greetings to everyone,

Greetings to everyone,

I stumbled upon a work around. I found that if I loaded an image and analysed it then everything would stack just fine. I don't even save the analysis to the analysis log. I have no idea why this works, but since I've been doing it, I've never had a problem. If I forget and get the error on the first stack, then I just go and analyse the first image then come back and the problem is solved, everything stacks. If anyone experiences this problem, try it and see if it helps.

Interesting Stacking Observation

Bill:

THANKS for that very interesting find. Let's see if others can report agreement/confirmation? Might help with debugging this error?

Stacking

I found that I'd get error messages when trying to add notes -- say "Ave 3 x 30 sec", but stacking worked fine if I didn't add any notes.
