I guess the title sums up what I am asking-- how does one go about reporting observations by another observer that appear to be wrong so they can be checked into?
I have been submitting observations of KZ Gem for the past few weeks and I have noticed that another observer is reporting magnitudes that are quite a bit brighter than what I am seeing (about 2 magnitudes brighter). There is a comp star (labeled 147) that is very, very close to the target variable and I think that he is reporting the brightness of the comp star.
I checked the chart that he reported using (X35225BE)-- it has a wide field of view (at least compared to the chart that I am using (X34550BHK)) and I think that might be the problem-- his chart doesn't go deep enough (it goes to mag 14.5) to have this comp star labeled (comp is 14.7) so he doesn't realize that he is grabbing the wrong star instead of KZ Gem.
So-- how do I report this so it get addressed? The other observer appears to be doing a time series so he has submitted close to 100 observations that seem to be the wrong star.

Hi Tom,
To report multiple discrepant-looking observations, please send an email to AAVSO HQ (aavso@aavso.org) with details (star name, JD range, mag range, band(s), observer code, why you think the data are discrepant) and we will follow up. For one or a few observations, you can also use the "Report Discrepancy" feature in the light curve generator - click on the discrepant-appearing observation, and in the box that opens with information about the observation click on the "Report Discrepancy" button. The observation will be added to a list that will be followed up on by HQ.
