Hello everyone !
I am currently trying to get my hands on variable star photometry with a DSLR, and a 200/800 tube.
Besides that, I am also passionate about the tracking of star occultations by asteroids.
For this I need a fast camera, sensitive, and a significant time resolution.
I am looking more and more seriously to buy the QHY-174MM-GPS cooled camcorder that fits pretty well with my second passion.
However, I would like to have your feedback when using it for photometry of variable stars.
Linearity of the sensor?
Banding problem?
CMOS amp-glow problem (pretty well mastered by QHY compared to ZWO)
Can this camera be suitable? Or is she absolutely to flee?
(has more than $ 1500 I can not be too wrong)
And yet I would like to have a versatile camera, fast, sensitive and long pose.
Thank you for your opinion on the subject.
