Programmatically upload

Is there a way to programmatically upload fit files to my images list?

For example, one can access a google drive using Google Drive for Desktop and "mount" the drive on the local machine.  Then one can write say, bash scripts, to programmatically access said Google drive.   

To make a workflow more "efficient", is there a way  to upload fit files?
