Sorry, but the new JD Converter is unusable. The result it gives cannot be copied to Excel or any other program to use for calculations. Please make it give the result in a standard datetime format that can be used. The previous version was very convenient.

Thanks!

Developer Response

Hi Nikola,

This is Aru, the developer at the AAVSO.

Thank you for your feedback regarding the Julian Date Calculator. Would an output format like "2024-08-09" be more usable?

I'll also add a button for quick copying/pasting. Is there any way else we can improve the calculator?

Thank you,
Aru Bhoop

DateTime Format

Hi, Aru,

Thank you for the reply. I meant a standard DateTime format like this one: '2024-08-09 20:52:31.584'.

I can copy this string in Excel and use it in formulas.

The currently presented result is a user-friendly simple text string, but I have to rewrite it manually if I want to use it in an Excel sheet.

Many thanks for considering my request.

Current time to JD

Hi Aru,

The previous version had a button to get the JD of the current time which was quite useful.

Would be nice to have that again too.

Thanks,

Eric
