How appropriate it is that Arlo Landolt has been awarded the Leslie C. Peltier Award!!! Never have I seen a more tireless worker, always has an ApJ or some other journal in front of him when he isn't slaving tirelessly away on stellar magnitude data. I met Arlo in 1963 when I was a student at LSU. Those were some of my most enjoyable days. It was Arlo who suggested that I join the AAVSO.
Congratulations, Dr. Landolt!!!!

Hi Lew,
As chair of the Peltier Award Committee of the Astronomical League, my suggestion for Arlo to be the recipient of the award was a no brainer. The other members of the committee agreed immediately. This is a fitting tribute to a great contributor to our organization and the astronomical community, at large.
In addition to the contributions mentioned in the award, I have had the honor of serving with Arlo on Council and having him serve with me on the Program Committee wherein he provided sage advice and continues to be a valued advisor.
Thank you for your comments.
