Although attendees are not expected to know anything about astronomical spectroscopy:
attendees are expected to be comfortable with astronomical observing equipment commonly used by amateur astronomers. For example, attendees should have some experience with telescopes, mounts, astronomical cameras (CCD or CMOS) and the software used to control the hardware and produce images. (Don't worry if you don't have much experience--basic knowledge will suffice.)
