I just ran into a new VPhot upload wrinkle - at least new to me.
Quick upload completes with the status shown in the screen shot - no error reported, but zero of one files uploaded. Processing queue shows nothing being processed and 6 week old items in the queue. Processed images shows only images I successfully uploaded last night.
Any suggestions?
Cliff
Cliff:
The upload issue you noted has been discussed recently by others. Check to see if your browser updated recently or active x changed? First thing is to try again LATER! It appears to be intermittent. :-(
The eight OLD zip.tmp files in queue are mine. They do not cause a problem but are removed manually, occasionally by George. Not to worry.
Ken
Thanks Ken. I used the same PC, software, etc. last night with good results - hence the wait a bit probably applies.
Cliff
I tried the same images, PC, browser today and they upload fine.

If the VPhot uploads are handled by a cluster, perhaps there is a bad server in the mix.
Cliff
Oh I wish VPhot had a cluster! Alas, its just a hard-pressed Windows 2008 Server instance running the best it can. Plans are afoot to migrate this to Server 2016 which will make it a 64bit instance with a lot more ram. I believe this will address some of the chronic problems we have.

Hi everyone,
I'm just getting started with VPHOT, so please bear with me.
Yesterday I tried to upload some FITS files that were created by calibrating Canon DSLR RAW files and then saving the G channel as he FITS file. When trying to upload using either the upload wiizard or Quick Uoload, I am getting a 404 error from the server:
Server Error
404 - File or directory not
Is there any maintenance going on with the VPHOT service or is there something else that I might be doing wrong?
Thanks,
Mike Durkin

If it happens again, note the time so I can look for issues in the logs and report the file information, (name, size etc) and exactly what operations you performing. For a 404 error, also report the url that appears on your browser.

Hi George,
Thanks for getting back to me. I just tried uploading an image file (P_CYG_02.fts) at about 1:53 PM Eastern time.
The URL in the browser bar was http://184.73.185.143/app/restricted/uploading/UploadWizStep2.aspx
I also opened up a Firefox debugging tool to see the HTTP requests and there seemed be be a couple dozen POST requests to the URL above, although they all returned a status code of 200. The 404 error message "Flash object reported an HTTPError (404) attempting to upload file [P_CYG_02.fts]" would only show up near the upload status bar. If it also helps my current source IP addess is 69.119.3.27

Thought it might be the extension, but .FTS is legal.
Can you get the file to me via a dropbox or google drive? Probably too big to email. Or you could try to ftp it to ftp.aavso.org/public
