UNH in Durham NH is holding their annual NE Fall Astronomy Festival (NEFAF) on Saturday Sept 30. See: https://extension.unh.edu/new-england-fall-astronomy-festival-nefaf They will have some speakers, demos, organization booths, observing, etc under large tents next to their observatory.
AAVSO has been invited to set up a table.
Are any Boston or NH area AAVSO member(s) interested in helping man a table?? I'd need help between 9AM and 4PM. I'll buy the coffee! I can bring our banner, remaining give-aways, some sort of short paper presentation on AAVSO, perhaps show short variable star videos on laptop. I'm open to other creative suggestions.
Helpers just need to be friendly and willing to talk to the public about AAVSO and variable star observing. No particular technical experience is required. You wouldn't need to stay by the table 100% of the time, we could all spend time taking in the event.
And we can use our presence to get known to the organizers and perhaps be invited to do a formal presentation next year.
