AAVSO Alert Notice 518 announces a new observing campaign on the UX Ori-type T Tauri star 2MASS J06593158-0405277. Multicolor photometry and visual observations are requested of this star (V=11.4, K=7.6). Please see the Alert Notice for details.
Good observing,
Elizabeth Waagen, AAVSO HQ
Elizabeth,
There is another star at about 1.4 arcminutes to the NNE of the target star. See the attached screenshot of a DSS image from Aladin. Is this to be included in the magnitude measurement? What is the desired protocol? I think it will be too close for most of us to exclude with our typical seeing and plate scales.

A long time ago in a galaxy far away, I wrote a spreadsheet for removing the effects from the light of a star -fainter than the target star- called nemesis.xls .
I did this when WZ Sge had its last major outburst. There is a star close to WZ Sge that sounds much like the present situation. There are two catches: 1) the target star must be brighter than the companion star and 2) the magnitude of this nemesis star must be known.
IF this can help, it is available at lewcook.com/nemesis.htm .
