In response to ongoing changes in the COVID pandemic, we have modified our plans for the November Spectroscopy Workshop and Annual Meeting. In addition to in-person meetings, both events will now be livestreamed on the Internet, using an audiovisual company to ensure quality.
To provide for the safety of people attending in person, we will require all attendees to be vaccinated and wear masks. In addition, we will adhere to CDC and local government requirements at the time of the meeting. This approach allows individuals to make their own decisions regarding in-person vs. online attendance. Realistically, an in-person meeting provides better opportunities for attendees to learn more during the hands-on sessions of the workshop and to interact with other members. Whether or not to attend in person is your personal decision.
Please register as soon as possible at - 2021 Annual Meeting Registration. We need an accurate estimate of the number of attendees at each event. Be sure to make your hotel reservations before October 5, when our discounted room rates expire - Row Hotel AAVSO Group Rate. (You have the option to cancel your reservation up to 48 hours before arrival without penalty.)
