Target Tool ( https://targettool.aavso.org/ ) was having some updating problems. Fortunately someone spotted this and advised HQ and now it is fixed: it accurately reports how long ago the last observation was made.
With this and any other AAVSO tool please report any behavior that looks like it needs repair. Thx.
Tool Tip: It bothered me that when you try to filter for just V observations you would also get Visual observations. I discovered you can direct the filter to be exact by adding a '=' to the filter. So filter by "V="
For you SNEWS enthusiasts: the best way to identify which SNEWS targets need observations is:
- Select the 'All' Observing Sections and refresh
- Put 'SNEWS' in the filter box for Notes and hit enter
- Put 'V=' in the filter/Mode box and hit enter
- Click the up/down symbol in the Last Observed column to sort by the last observed date.
And then go off and observe the stars that need data!
