For those you haven't seen it yet, the December Issue of Sky & Telecope ran an article about the long term changes in T UMI and gave a shout out to the AAVSO's long term monitoring of this star.

This is a great star for visual observers. It's easy to find and has good comps. At a +73 degree declination, most northern hemisphere observers can follow it all year long.

Frank wrote two LPV of the Month articles on this star. I recommend them to anyone looking for a refresher. I just did!
