Me again! Just looking at some new stars to add and for some reason remembered SV Cyg from reading T.W.Webb ages ago. I thought SV had turned out to be in fact invariable but it doesn't look like that from the range given, even though that is in B. There appears to be only one comparison star of 9.8 so is SV Cyg actually constant / small amplitude in visual?
There are V observations in the database showing a range 8.5-9.5. It is also clearly variable in HIPPARCOS data.
The range 11.7 - 13.2 B shows it is a very red object, and yes, it is indeed a carbon star.
I have adopted the V range now in VSX.
Cheers,
Sebastian
