Trying to register to get an AUID name for a 2MASS J00454021+4150501. I have data but can't enter it without a recognized name for the AAVSO data base input page.
I don't know why you are interested in 2MASS J00454021+4150501. You can't request an AUID because that star is not in VSX.
It is in a crowded field in the Andromeda galaxy.
We do not add extragalactic variables systematically and even if we were to add it, what is the published source where you read about this star?
Around this position we can find M31V_J00454017+4150500, classified as an eclipsing binary in 2006A&A...459..321V, with a period of 4.000571 d..
But its phase plot looks bogus.
And the published magnitude V= 16.65 is not consistent with a V= 17.89 value published in 2006AJ....131.2478M. We can also derive V= 18.71 from ATLAS-REFCAT2 And it has G= 18.12 in Gaia EDR3.
This object has a V= 17.83 red companion in 2006AJ....131.2478M, and that is probably the red supergiant LGGS J004540.18+415050.5, which has V= 18.46 in 2021AJ....161...79M. But the position in 2006AJ....131.2478M is off. This one has V= 17.30 according to ATLAS-REFCAT2 and V= 17.75 according to Gaia EDR3.
The two stars are 1.0" apart and are mutually contaminated in most catalogues. Including 2MASS. Magnitudes are all over the place.
So the eclipsing binary might be spurious. And the red supergiant is not classified as variable in any of the VizieR catalogues.
Even if there was a report confirming variability, the fact that there are two stars so close together, makes it a non recommended target for ground-based observations.
