Recent V809 Cep observations
In Atel #5389, Munari et. al. reported "Nova Cephei 2013 has emerged from dust obscuration".
They reported
"The first positive detection of the nova occurred on Aug 17, after which the photometric observations were conducted also with the Asiago 67/92cm Schmidt telescope in addition to the ANS Collaboration telescopes. The last set of observations collected between Sep 4 and 7 allow measure the nova at average B=20.0, V=18.25, Rc=17.22, Ic=16.68. The red colors seem primarily a consequence of the large interstellar reddening affecting the nova. "
I checked V809 Cep with Light Curve Generator and noticed that V809 Cep already detected in June and V light curve looked like double line.
Is there any neighbor star that is difficult to resolve with V809 Cep?
Do we observe combined magnitude with any neighbor?
Or, does any other reason such as difference in filter transmission exist?

Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention, Seiichiro. There are some nearby companion stars which could make identification difficult. I am investigating and contacting the observers.

Yes, there is a 16.5 Vmag. companion 8.4" to the NW.
We have added a note to VSX and VSP to warn people about that.

Thanks for this information! I've made two observations recently (September 16 & September 10) using BRT (C14 + focal reducer), but it seem's I've been measuring the companion instead of the nova, at about V=16.7. I'll delete them from the AID.

here is a recent finding chart from W30 for V809 cep, north up, east left, about 10arcmin, with the variable marked. Note the 16th magnitude star at the top of the circle, which is the star that many observers are reporting. V809 Cep itself is considerably fainter.
