Processed images not appearing in my list

This issue has now happened twice.

I upload about 150 images onto vphot. They all seem to go through the processing but only the first image uploaded appears in my list of images. I have to logout and log back in and upload my images again and wait for them to be reprocessed before they appear on my list images.

images not making it to VPhot list

- When making an error report please include enough information for me to investigate! If it takes me 20 minutes to figure out who, what, where and when, then  it generally is not treated as a serious error request.

- I did dig into this fault. It appears a whole raft of V396 Lupin images were failed. Failed because the OBSERVER= field in the FITS header was blank. Normally VPhot would create a USERNAME= field and populate it with your obscode. That may be a clue... why didn't it do it in this case.

- Question: You say the upload was successful after logging out/in.
Was there any change in your upload procedure?
Any estimate of how long you were logged in before the first, failed, upload happened?

- Having your imaging software set OBSERVER= to your obscode will likely avoid this problem.

The issue appears to be…

The issue appears to be random logout from Vphot.

Vphot logs me out randomly sometimes less than 60 seconds after logging in.

If the logout happens during file upload than all the files that upload after the logout (which happens in the background) still get processed but as you say no observer code is added as Vphot has logged me out.

I know I have been logged out during file upload because when I click on any tab it asks me to log in again even though I logged in immediately prior to starting file upload.

VPhot logout

I think we are getting closer to understanding the problem. As you say, it is probably related to being logged out during the upload.

I need to investigate how the logged status is maintained. Anyone out there understand ASP.NET?

Meanwhile, if the fits headers have OBSERVER= set to your obscode, those files that are uploaded after the logout will still be properly identified and posted to your image list.
