I'd like to incorporate more features into the Variable Stars iPhone app, but it requires additional data to be included in the VSX data dump.
- Remarks - particularly valuable in providing background.
- Spectral Type (currently I'm cross-matching against GCVS - only have info for ~ 11k stars)
- # observations in AAVSO db (useful for observers wanting to identify both popular as well as neglected stars.)
- flag to indicate if the star is part of an active observing program

In lieu of David's other post, it probably makes more sense for me to seek out connectivity to the internal DBs so that I can create some custom data dumps. But I do think 'remarks' should should be included as a separate file in the regular data dumps available through vizier.
