This year the AAVSO and the Apache Point Observatory are collaborating to bring the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Plates workshop to Las Cruces area educators. This workshop is also open to AAVSO members, spouses or friends attending the Annual Meeting, who teach at the middle school through college levels. There is no charge for the workshop and it is limited to 20 seats. Advanced registration is required. The workshop will take place on Saturday, October 19th from 12-1:30 at Hotel Encanto. Each participant will receive one of the SDSS plates for classroom use and receive access to the SDSS online curricula. Go to the following link to read more about this workshop. Please pass this information on to any educator you know that might be interested in participating in the workshop. Thank you!
Questions can be directed to Lindsay Ward at the AAVSO or Kathy Spirer
