The last fundraising letter

Dear AAVSO Supporters,

This is the last fundraising letter you will get from the AAVSO in 2014, I promise.

People often ask me, "Why do so many organizations ramp up their fundraising activities at the end of the year?"

The truth is, it's not for a lack of planning. It's not because we suddenly realize we are short of our annual goals. It is because the average person makes 24% of their annual donations between Thanksgiving and New Years. 30% of all U.S. donations happen in December. Half of all nonprofit organizations earn the majority of their revenue between October 1 and December 31.

Even more amazing, to me anyway, 10% of all U.S. donations are made between December 29 and 31.

So if you are one of these perpetually procrastinating donors, I'm simply writing to remind you the clock is ticking; time is running out.

What ever motivates you to give to the AAVSO, we try to make giving as easy for you as we can. You can make a donation online right now by simply clicking here.

Thank you for your continued support.

Best Wishes for 2015,
