IX Dra: Timing November's superoutburst

Hi, I am working with the AAVSOnet telescope NH2 ( with Ken Menzies) to try to capture the timing of the next superoutburst of IX Dra. Based upon a good time series provided by the TESS satellite during 2019 and early 2020, the outburst may be November 14 - give or take a few days. Some BAA VSS observers have been contributing for a week or two , but I would encourage any observers to join in with visual or CDD V photometry..

The results to date are available at the LCG where several normal outbursts are recorded every five or so days.

Regards

IX Dra photometry updated

Stewart,

I just uploaded V for the last two nights, 2459163 & 2459164.  Clouds here for the next few days at least. Agree it is a super... Best regards, Jim (DEY)

Super outburst nearly finished

Jim,

I'm using the AAVSonet SRO telescope in Arizona now and measured 15.9 last night ( 22 Nov ). Some way to go but it does seem to be declining.

Jim, Are you observing from Virginia?

The next superoutburst will be just into the New Year (Jan7th nominally) if the supercycle period is 60 days.

IX Dra super-outburst

Stewart,

Yes, I'm located in and observe from Virginia.  You should be able to contact me directly via the AAVSO but I'm not sure how you do it. String of very good weather is now gone... will observe IX Dra when clear.

Second normal outburst

The SRO, Azizona  observations have been paused, but will restart at the end of December to catch the next super.  I notice that IX dra is a bit low in the sky now .

One week to go to nominal superoutburst.

I'm not hopeful that the AAVSOnet kit is suitable for IX Dra at this time of year owing to site visibility limitations towards the north.

(They are doing a good job on ER Uma and RZ Lmi though from New Mexico)
