HM Sge observations

Hello!

I have been observing HM Sge since March 16 at the remote telescopes of Burke Gaffney Obs and Abbey Ridge Observatory. On March 21, during COS observations, I observed this with BGO (in filters V, B, R), and after the end of the planned time of COS observations, I observed this with ARO (filters V and B). In general, the brightness stays roughly the same all days.

I will wait for the announcement of the final time for the WFC3 observations.

With best regards, Filipp.

HM Sge

Dear Dr. Steven Goldman,

Hello!

I made a few more observations with ARO and BGO when the weather allowed. Today I planned to observe HM Sge on the remote telescope of iTelescope (with V, B and U filters) during the WFC3 observations, but the observatory roof was closed. Will SOFIA's observation time be announced?

With best regards,

Filipp.

SOFIA observation schedule

The SOFIA observations are a bit uncertain, but they are planned for June/July for one instrument (FORCAST) and November/December for the other (EXES). I will post an update when the flight schedule has been posted. Thank you again for your passion and enthusiasm. On behalf of the team, we really appreciate this work.

Best wishes,

Steve

Dear Dr. Steven Goldman, thanks for your answer! I'll be waiting for this update here. So far, as recommended in the Alert Notice, I measured the brightness of this star until April 14, when the weather was clear at these observatories. I will try to continue observing this star with remote telescopes.

SOFIA/FORCAST observations planned for June 29th and 30th

Hey all,

Our FORCAST observations are scheduled for June 29th and July 30th. It would be great to have some observations before, during, and after the SOFIA ones. Thank you all again for your previous efforts, and your dedication and commitment to this science.

Best wishes,
Steve

Unexpected changes in lightcurve, I-band photometry requested

We are seeing some dramatic and unexpected changes in the near-IR, and would urgently request imaging in the I-band. If not, we may also be able to use other near-IR bands.

Thank you all for your contributions to this project. With each observations, the system gets more interesting. The SOFIA and Hubble observations are complete, but we would like to continue to monitor this system as we are seeing these changes.

Best wishes,

Steve
