Hello,
It has been a few years since I have used AstroImageJ, and I wanted to get back, so I am working on the Wasp 12-b data that Dennis provides and I'm using the newest version of AIJ on my Mac. However, I must be missing something in the AIJ guide that Dennis has provided ...I have tied it from scratch several times.
I have Data Processed all the raw images into the pipeline folder and I open that stack. I set my aperture and, as described, I select the target star and my comp stars. When I hit ENTER to perform the differential photometry a series of windows open as expected. However, the Data Set 2 window is blank and does not look like figure 18 in Dennis's instructions. I tried to click the "Extract Prior Center Values from Light Curve" button on the Data Set 2 window ... just to see if that populated the data, but when I do get an error message, "The plot of this curve must be enabled prior to center values." My plot of measurements does not include any line of best fit for the transit and looks nothing like Figure 22 in Dennis's instructions.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Walter
Hi Walter
First, make sure you have the latest version of my Guide - go to astrodennis.com/Guide.pdf to download it.
Next, make sure that your Multi-plot Y screen looks like the example in Figure 17.
If you need further help, the most efficient way would be for us to do a zoom call. Contact me at dennis@astrodennis.com if you wish to do that.
Best,
Dennis
Thank you, Dennis. I want to give it another go tomorrow and pay careful attention to Figure 17, as you suggest. If I still can't get it, I'll take you up on your offer. If I get it to work, I'll let you know that, also.
Walter
All is working now; thank you so much.
Walter
Just a note -- if you haven't run across this excellent video tutorial on AstroImageJ, you might find it useful:
