Hi,

Just a thought... Would it be possible to ask for a sequence via the VSX like asking for a AUID? It would be very handy...

Regards,

Eddy

Sequence request from VSX

Hi Eddy,

This possibility is in fact already available.  If you click on "Sequence" to the right of the constellation name in the detail sheet of an object in VSX, you get a popup window with an overview of the existing comparison stars in the neighbourhood (and links to charts).  When you are logged in to VSX, you also have the possibility to fill in a form to request a new sequence.

Requesting sequences

I never knew this and I submit a lot of requests. This is much easier. A lot less typing.

Thanks

Sequences

Could it be possible to add an extra colom in the VSX saying there is already a sequence? In the same way like we can see with an AUID. Would be very handy for me.

New Sequence via VSX does not work

I have requested a new sequence for GSC 04621-00193 for 25 arcmin FOV (000-BKG-924, VSX J053024.8+842243) about 2 weeks ago via the Sequence request in VSX and nothing has happened.

I have request sequence before via a more direct rounte and have gotten prompt replies but did not save how i did that.

Why does'nt this VSX path work?

VSX J053024.8+842243 Sequence

John,

Those requests are forwarded to me.  I can only presume that I must have made a mistake and accidently deleted your request.

Please accept my apology.

I will take a look at the VSX J053024.8+842243 fov a bit later today and attempt to build you a sequence.

No Harm

Tim,

I hope you did not take my note in the wrong way; I have recieved sequences from you before in a more direct way and just thought that this feature had a bug in it.

I did receive an automated email noting my request on 1/28 but then nothing since.

As I noted in the request this is not an urgent matter; just wanted to be sure things were working.

Please accept my apolgy if I have offended you.

Geezzzz...... No Offense what so ever

John,

Geez... no offense what so ever... I am just glad that you spoke up... as I previously mentioned, the only thing that I can think of is that  I must have accidently deleted your original request.

In any event, the good news now is that you have a sequence for VSX J053024.8+842243. smiley

Good Observing and Ad Astra,

Tim
