Hi All,
I can't post replies to any of the AAVSO discussion forum topics. Although I can start a new Forum Topic (e.g. this one).
I am logged onto the AAVSO website and can view all forum content ok. When I click on the reply button my browser (IE8 running under WIN XP) is directed to the reply form but the Comment box is visible for only a second or so before it disappears. The Subject box is ok.
Does anyone else have this problem, or am I doing something wrong? Cheers,

I can confirm the same behavior on IE9 on Windows 7, so it looks like this is a general IE problem. I'll get it fixed as soon as I can. If you need anything else, feel free to email me (will@aavso.org)
And for no reason I can reasonably comprehend, enabling CSS optimization fixed the problem. Mark, can you confirm that it's working for you?

In IE 10 I still can't reply. It used to work just fine until a few months ago. I haven't tried making a new thread with IE10 since the problem started so I don't know if that works or not.
IE 10 version 10.0.0 runing on 64 bit machine.
I have to switch to Chrome to post to forums. It's a pain to switch back and forth.

It looks like the fix I talked about in this thread didn't work for everyone. I'm aware of the problem, but I haven't been able to find a solution yet. It's been very difficult to pin down, because it doesn't manifest on every computer with IE.
I'll be sure to keep everyone in this thread posted when I have a solution.
One of our intrepid users has discovered a workaround for this! It appears that if you set IE to run in compatibility mode, it works. Instructions on how to do this, as well as further information, can be found here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view
Note that this feature is only available from IE8 onwards. This is a good time to point out that versions of IE before IE8 are not officially supported, and may not work correctly on those browsers.
I'll continue to work on fixing the website so that compatibility mode isn't required.

Why waste time fiddling with a second rate, proprietary, buggy browser like IE?! Google Chrome has become the usage leader in browsers for some time now, with a continuing increasing market share, while IE continues a steady decline!
