I'm starting a project as a research associate with the Lowell Observatory Amateur Research Initiative (LARI). We are taking LONEOS images and redoing the photometry to improve it by a factor of 10 or more - essentially from 0.5 mag accuracy to 0.05. One of the things that makes this possible at all is APASS. It's a project that is being very useful across the board for any kind of photometry, not just variable stars. Darn cool! Thanks, AAVSO!
