November 13, 2012: The next set of targets has been announced for the HST COS cataclysmic variables campaign being coordinated by Drs. Boris Gaensicke, Joseph Patterson, Arne Henden, et al. (see AAVSO Alert Notice 471 for list of investigators and campaign details).

Please begin monitoring these cataclysmic variables nightly in preparation for more intensive coverage when the HST observation windows approach. For each star, a more narrowly focused observing window will be announced as it becomes available. In the time leading up to the satellite observations the 72 to 48 hours before the start time are particularly critical, as 24 hours before the scheduled start time the HST scheduling team will make a final decision about carrying out the observations. Instructions are given in Alert Notice 471.
Charts for these targets may be created using VSP (www.aavso.org/vsp).
Please report observations promptly to the AAVSO International Database using the names given in the table (the primary VSX names). If you see a target in outburst, please contact the AAVSO immediately and post a message to the Observations and Campaigns & Observations Reports forum (http://www.aavso.org/forum).
Other AAVSO Special Notices issued in connection with this campaign may be viewed via the AAVSO Observing Campaigns page (www.aavso.org/observing-campaigns).
Your observations have been and are continuing to be crucial to the success of this campaign. Many thanks!
