Friends,

The American Astronomical Society opened nominations for the Chambliss Amateur Achievement Award. This Award is for an achievement in astronomical research made by an amateur astronomer - that is, a person not employed in the field of astronomy in a professional capacity - and who is resident in North America. The key factor in deciding the recipient will be that the work contributes to the advancement of the science of astronomy. The award consists of a silver medal. Self-nominations are allowed. Nominations are due by 30 June each year.

To submit a nomination for yourself or another worthy recipient, follow the instructions here: https://aas.org/grants-and-prizes/prize-nomination-checklists#chambliss amateur Note that the recipient does not need to be a member of the American Astronomical Society in order to be eligible to win the Award.

Best wishes – clear skies,

Stella.
