Due to the AAVSO's security upgrade from http to https, all of our Java Web Start apps also had to be updated. If you are a user of any of these tools, please delete the old .jnlp file you use to launch it and download it again. Here is a list of the apps affected and the web page from which you can download the new version:
VStar - https://www.aavso.org/vstar-overview
SunEntry - https://www.aavso.org/sun-entry
Seqplot - https://www.aavso.org/seqplot
Zapper - https://www.aavso.org/zapper
If after downloading the new version anyone experiences any problems, please contact me with details.
Many thanks,
Sara (sara [at] aavso.org)

P.S. I forgot to mention the very important fact that you must now use Java 1.7 or higher with all of the Java-based apps mentioned above.
Hello
I just upgraded my Java/Vstar setup. All went well with no hitches. It was so smooth. Its always been this way. My cudos to Sara, Java, and whoever else we owe a shout out for making things work properly, they way they should. Now I probably jinxed myself.
Gary
Hi Gary
That's good.
As a matter of interest, did you use VStar via Java WebStart (i.e. the Download VStar Now button here: https://www.aavso.org/vstar-overview) or a SourceForge download?
Thanks.
David
Hello David
First, I am sorry that I did not recognize your efforts in the previous email. You do a great job. I really appreciate it.
I used the https://www.aavso.org/vstar-overview.
Gary
No need to apologise,
Hi Gary
No need to apologise, but thanks very much.
The key thing was to ask whether you used the WebStart download, which you confirmed, so thanks.
David
