I found an excellent introductory paper to T Tauri Stars - "T Tauri Stars" in the Astronomy and Astrophysics Review form 1989. The authors are Appenzeller and Mundt. You can download a free copy from http://www.springerlink.com/content/w0511r5n542nj714/

Yes, a nice overview, and pretty relevant, even if the article is 20 years old! Some of the names there are still very active in the field today. They also mention PV Cep, which although I do have a chart for, is not really suited to us visual observers. But the CCD guys might like to have a pop at it, together with its weird attendant nebula.
