Hello!

I wanted to ask if there are any secure methods (FTP+SSL, SFTP, ...) enabled to access AAVSOnet file server. Apparently, there is SFTP server running in ftp.aavsonet.aavso.org but it doesn't allow login using AAVSO username (and most probably because of good reasons). FTP seems to be just plain old FTP, so usernames and passwords are flying over the wide Internet as plain text. I did not manage to download large(r) amounts of files from VPHOT (and I guess, it's not meant/optimized to download tens of large-format images).

If there is no secure copy options, maybe AAVSO could consider adding one. Because ftp.aavsonet.aavso.org is running on Ubuntu Linux, a very simple setup like described below could be used to enable that:
