I now have a C11 on a Skywatcher EQ6 R Pro with Optec SSP3 and have been advised that a focal reducer (FR) may be needed.

A few questions please.

Does the FR speed up the system, i.e would I get more counts than without an FR?

Is the problem also that scope will be less prone to guiding, vibration and wind shake problems with a FR.

Anything else I would need to be aware of.

Thanks

Just try it

There is no need for a focal reducer.  You have a mount, an optical tube, and the photometer.  Set them up and see how they work.
