Colin Haig
Biography:
Colin Haig, M.Sc. is the head of marketing at Diffraction Limited, maker of SBIG imaging cameras and MaxIm DL observatory software. His career includes twenty-five years as an executive at high technology companies including SAP, Triversity, and Lucent with senior roles in business development, marketing, product management and engineering. Mr. Haig is the Past President of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, and served on RASC board of directors in from 2014 to 2020 as well as SkyNews magazine for 4 years. Colin’s passion for astronomy and science education is reflected in his lifetime commitment to protecting the night sky and inspiring people of all ages to keep looking up. He has appeared in the media, covering astronomy on the national stage. He is a member of the IEEE and SPIE. Colin hand-built his first CCD cameras in the mid 1990's, and first became an AAVSO member in 2000.
