VPhot has not been allowing me to log in for about 24 hours now.  Pretty sure the problem is on the AAVSO end, as I was using it last night without event.  Any idea of when it will be back up?  Thanks.

Can't log in

Tom,

Are you sure you're still logged in to the main AAVSO site before you try to log in to VPhot?

Yes, I am logged in, and

Yes, I am logged in, and invariably get a "Server Error in '/app' Location" error.  One of the lines reads, "

Unable to read data from the transport connection: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond."

If you try it, are you able to log in?

Perhaps this will help in

Perhaps this will help in diagnosing the problem.  I was successfully uploading images to VPhot as recently as July 21 at approximately 2:00 UT.  When I returned home at 6:00 UT, it began experiencing the login issue.

Vphot login problems

VPhot is having problems with a slowness that hits a 30sec timeout. When you're logging in it appears to be caused by having a large number of files and the system taking too long to build the image list.

The work around is to keep your image lists below 2,000 files. If your list is big and you can't get in to trim it, then you're stuck. You need to contact me and I'll need to delete those files to clear the list.

To all you out there aggravated by VPhot's performance of late, I apologize. I'm in that group too. We're a volunteer organization and right now I need a volunteer with skills in MySql, VBnet, Windows IIS and/or AWS to help diagnose the problem.
