Hi!

I'm having problems uploading files to VPhot - images does not appear in my image list - and according to forum posts here, this can be related to missing FITS keywords in my images (TELESCOP and OBSERVER). And they are missing from about 150 of my files. Editing one by one does not really feel like an attractive task. And the program F4W2HDU that would seem fit for the task, does not pass through my virus control so I cannot install it.

So: I'm looking for suggestions for useful tools to bulk edit the fits headers of my files. I prefer linux (ubuntu) but can do windows as well. Any suggestions?

Upload problems

The setting of TELESCOP and OBSERVER in the fits header does not affect VPhot: you do not have to have it set. When you upload to VPhot these header values will be set to the telescope profile that you have selected in the upload process and to your obscode.

The issue of files not making it to your image list and the lack of warning of a failure is a worry. The next time you run into this problem please send a note to me at VPHOT@gasilvis.net. Report the exact time the problem happened, your obscode, and the number of files involved. I will investigate.
