Announcement: New Applications
We are excited to announce the launch of our new applications! We're opening up early access to our new applications for searching, downloading, and submitting photometric observations. You can now access these applications through these links:
We ask for your feedback in order to help us improve these applications. Please send feedback for the applications above to feedback@aavso.org. Note: please avoid duplicating submissions across the two submit applications.
One of the requirements to use VPhot is that you have an AAVSO observer code -- according to your profile, you do not have one yet. Please use this link to request one, and then try uploading your images again.
There were some problems in VPhot this evening. Please resubmit those files and if you continue to have problems with them, send me the file names and I will investigate.
Yesterday evening (07/08/14) I uploaded a big number of files which were all accepted and queued. By the time I closed my session those files were stil on queue. Today, however, they are missing from my images and I don't see them queued anymore (koi1152 11/26/2013 R, 50 files and koi1152 11/26/2013B, 50 files)
I'm not sure I understand your list. Are you saying that you uploaded 24 files all named KOI1152-001V.fits ?
I guess so; I see 3 KOI1152-001V.fits files that did plate solve in the period 7/6-7/11
I'm thinking the problem is the files all having the same name. When they are uploaded they all fall into the incoming directory. Same name and they would overwrite each other, thus dissappear.
I should have been more specific on my last message.
The files have consecutive number, so, for example, KOI1152-001V.fits for 24 files means KOI1152-001V.fits, KOI1152-002V.fits, KOI1152-003V.fits, all the way to KOI1152-024V.fits. The same thing for the others.
I'm still thinking that duplicate file names are the issue.
I've tested this by uploading the same file twice and seeing only one file in the queue; the second upload stepped on the first.
While the files are in the queue, waiting for plate solve, they are vulnerable to being over written.
Your file naming protocol does not include date information. I assume that KOI1152-001V.fits may appear on many different days; I saw common file names appearing in your images though for different days.
Is it possible you uploaded several days of observations into VPhot on one day so that they would all be sitting in the queue at the same time?
The workaround then would be to upload a days observations and then wait for them to clear the queue before uploading the next days. Or put date information into the file name.

Thank you so very much!!

I am having the same issue, although I do already have an observer code.
Any suggestions?

I see some 348 image files in the VPhot "Failed" directory. These images failed plate solution.
But even failed images should appear on your Images page.
If you can give me the exact file name as uploaded I will look in the activity logs to see what might have happened.

Try serializing the names and try a batch again.
