January 29, 2013: Further to AAVSO Alert Notice 475 (http://www.aavso.org/aavso-alert-notice-475) and AAVSO Special Notice #327 (http://www.aavso.org/aavso-special-notice-327), HST/COS will be observing the dwarf nova U Gem on
2013 January 30 21:31:12 - 23:36:16 UT
As said by Dr. Michael Shara, "All observations during the 24 hours leading up to, during, and after the observations will be very valuable. CCD data in U,B,V and I will be particularly appreciated." Observations are needed both to ascertain that U Gem is not in outburst at the time of the HST observations and to correlate and interpret the HST data.
Please observe U Gem and report your observations to the AAVSO International Database using the name U GEM. If you see U Gem in outburst or brightening, please report your observations immediately.
