The eclipsing SU UMa cataclysmic variable XZ Eri appears to be in superoutburst, according to an observation from Rod Stubbings, Tetoora Road, Victoria, Australia, reported via [vsnet-alert 10737], that shows XZ Eri at visual magnitude 15.0 on November 25.705 UT. Earlier observations reported to the AAVSO International Database include Nov. 19.2296 UT at <15.7 (R. Stanton, Three Rivers, CA) and Aug. 31.2329 at <18.0 CV (F. Gobet, Cestas, France). Typically XZ Eri is fainter than photographic magnitude 17.5 at minimum. The previous outburst (also a superoutburst) occurred on 2007 December 6.0102 UT, when XZ Eri reached CCD magnitude 14.7478 and was bright for at least 3 days. Visual observers and photometrists are urged to monitor this likely superoutburst and report their observations.
