Observing Campaign on Hubble's First Variable in M31: M31_V1

Active Dates: July 16, 2010 – July 16, 2010

Abstract:

An observing campaign is being carried out on M31_V1, the first variable star discovered in M31 by Edwin Hubble. The campaign aims to observe M31_V1 with the Hubble Space Telescope (HST), needing to know the phase of this Cepheid variable. Basic parameters are known for this star, but no recent photometry exists, so observations are required to generate current phase information.

Justification:

The campaign aims to obtain current phase information for M31_V1, as no recent photometry data exists. This information is needed for planned observations with the Hubble Space Telescope (HST).
