Although the Eclipsing Binary Section is one of the oldest featured on the AAVSO Website, it appears that there have not been any regularly scheduled EB section meetings for at least 2 years. I would like to propose that we consider this possibility in 2024, however, feedback from the AAVSO community about the frequency and subject matter for these Zoom-based video gatherings is critical for success. I am prepared to lecture on some of my research but would prefer that other EB researchers also discuss their work. Please feel free to respond on this forum if you have some ideas about what topics you would like to see covered.

A topic always of interest to me:
What EBs would professional astronomers recommend for us to observe? I.e. what stars should we observe to maximize the probability that the data will actually be useful, in more than the sense of continuing an observational history etc etc.

Hi
I have the same general question. I did find a listing of EBs that seem to be especially of interest and in need of observations. They are in the “Otero” list.
Hopefully, others can provide addition suggestions on where our observing and analysis time can be best spent.
cheers
Gary
Good question and definitely a worthy topic for discussion at an EB Section meeting.
